A Typical Session #01

What to Expect

Your Initial Consultation
The first appointment usually takes between an hour and ninety minutes of your time. I'll need to know exactly how you experience your symptoms and ask some general questions about yourself, such as food preferences & dietary habits, your sleep patterns, your leisure, how you deal with stress and so on. I'll also ask about your past medical history, your present lifestyle and a little bit about your family's medical history. I can then build up a complete picture of you as an individual, including your health strengths and weaknesses so that I can prescribe a safe and effective course of homeopathic treatment that is carefully tailored to you, based on your current health priorities and needs. Everyone is unique and reacts in their own way to illness depending on their susceptibilities. I may prescribe herbal tinctures or suggest nutritional supplements to help strengthen any weaker areas of the body and assist the action of the deeper acting homeopathic remedies. I occasionally suggest a Bach Flower Remedy to accompany homeopathic treatment, if appropriate.
Your Prescription
I often give support remedies straight away, with written guidelines on how to take and store them. Otherwise I will post them to you by 1st class mail, as I need to spend some time going into your case in depth and matching your exact health picture to that of a remedy or remedies for you. I frequently provide a fact sheet with some self-help and general advice on various conditions to accompany your prescription.
Following Up
Follow-up appointments usually last between 30 and 40 minutes. We monitor and assess together how you've progressed on all levels with your remedies after your previous appointment. You're encouraged to phone or email me between appointments if you need to or have forgotten to tell me something.

These subsequent consultations are normally 4-5 weeks apart, but this may vary according to your needs. I prefer to follow-up at least twice after the first appointment, but this is completely up to you and the nature of your visit ~ you may only need one or two appointments. Many of my clients like to return on a regular basis because they find that they benefit in terms of sleep quality, raised energy and immunity. Others want to check in more occasionally for a 'constitutional' appointment or to deal effectively with any current concerns over their general wellbeing.
PLEASE BE REASSURED THAT YOUR CONSULTATIONS WITH ME ARE IN COMPLETE CONFIDENCE.
My Charges
  • General advice is, of course, free and with no obligation.
  • To visit me in Netherfield, its £55 for the first appointment and £40 for follow-ups. Click here for Map
  • If I visit you at home or your workplace or at Bingham, or at The Little London Herbal Store, its £65 and £45 respectively.
These charges include homeopathic remedies as well as telephone or email support and advice between appointments ~ a full and flexible service.

  • If you have an acute condition that doesn't relate to your current treatment eg flu, stomach upsets, insect bites etc or if you require support remedies for dental treatment or travel, then I charge you £10.
  • A one-off acute consultation for non-current patients will cost £20.
  • A tissue salt programme for pregnancy is £15.
  • Whilst emergencies do inevitably crop up that might prevent you from keeping your appointment with me, a cancellation fee of 50% applies for non-attendances and cancellations without notice in order to cover my preparation time for the consultation and any room or petrol costs. This, fortunately, is seldom necessary.
NB: If you have private health insurance you might like to check with your insurers whether you are covered for homeopathic consultations. An increasing number of personal and corporate health insurance companies (such as HSA, Healthsure, Westfield) are recognising the benefits of homeopathy and other complementary and alternative treatments.
